ELAINE MARGUERITE GUILES WALKER
May 26, 1925 Dec. 14, 2016
Elaine Walker K

Elaine Marguerite Guiles Walker was born May 26, 1925 in Stratford, Oklahoma.
Born to Ora Nichols and Douglas Guiles, she was proud of her Native American and Scot’s Irish heritage. She was the eldest of eight. Growing up in Oklahoma in the 20’s and 30’s, life was difficult. Yet, she thrived and became strong, caring, and compassionate. With a loving heart, she made friends easily and for the long term. In 1973 she met and married Jack Walker. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage and happiness with their family and serving in the Church in Oakdale. In 1998 they became full time caregivers for Jack’s parents who were in their 90’s. After the passing of Jack’s parents, Elaine’s health began to fail. Through it all her complaints were few, her testimony strong, her heart loving and kind as always. Jack then became Elaine’s full-time caregiver with a love and devotion rarely seen. Dec. 11, Elaine suffered a terrible fall causing an inoperable subdural hematoma. She was surrounded by her loving family until she returned to her Heavenly home on Dec 14.
She leaves her loving husband, Jack, son Paul Walker and wife, Ellen, daughter, Betty Lillie and husband, Doug, son Rick Gay and wife Carol, son Charlie Gay and wife Karin and daughter-in-law, Anita Gay. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Mike and seven siblings. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Service was held Saturday, Dec 17 at 11 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1111 A St., Oakdale.
Services provided by Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service.
