Edward Bianchi

Ed passed away Aug. 3, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born in Oakdale on Sept. 26, 1926 to James and Lolly Bianchi. He lived on Horseshoe Road and attended Oakdale schools before entering the US Navy in 1945. Ed worked for Pohl Sheet Metal, Hunt’s and Simpson Paper in Ripon where he retired after 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid mechanic; building hot rods, restoring old cars and building championship race cars.
Ed leaves his wife of 63 years, Bonny; one son Edward, Jr. Joe (Denise), daughter Carol (Ron Rocha);grandchildren Ryan Bianchi (Riley), Emily Clark (Aron);great-granddaughters Chelsea and Carly Clark and sister Virginia Gibson. He was preceded in death by his brother William (Bill). No service is planned and a private burial will be held at Knights Ferry Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Hospitality House in Salida and Optimal Hospice Care of Modesto.
