Donald Ray Ellis Jr., 81, passed away peacefully in his home on March 22, 2015 in Wendon, AZ. He was born in Omaha, NE to parents Donald and Marie Ellis. He is survived by his loving companion Reba, son Jack, daughter Ann Gee Calvert and several grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings Midge Scharf, Arlene Aby, Virginia Axley, Shirley Miller, Bob Ellis, Beverly Teuscher, and Donna Arbuckle. Don is preceded in death by his grandson Justin, and sisters Pearl Dorn, Lucille Manzo, Betty Meyer, Maxine Sears, and Peggy Bartee. Don attended Oakdale High School, from 1948-1951, then enlisted in the Coast Guard and served 4 years. After the Coast Guard he worked as an electrical engineer across the country, and served as an engineering Ambassador to the country of Mongolia. Don later retired and spent summers at his home in Idaho and winters at his home in Arizona. Don was truly an outdoors man and loved the wide open spaces of Idaho. A celebration of life will be held in Leadore, Idaho on July 4, 2015 - his favorite time of year and in his favorite little town. At his request he will be taken for a final tour of the “Big Sky” state, Montana, and then be set free.
