Born in Cheyenne, Wy, moved to Oakdale, CA with his wife in 1980 after serving in the Navy. He worked for PacBell/AT&T for 38 years, retiring in 2009. Throughout his life he enjoyed coaching youth baseball, participating in multiple organizations (VFW, Optimist, Cooties), camping, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his father; Russel, wife of 47 years; Donna, son; William (Bill) and his wife; Jenny, daughter; Dawn Marie, her sons; Dalton Simms, Hunter Simms, and Andrew Wright, and his brother Michael. He was preceded in death by his mother; Marion. Celebration of life will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, April 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at San Joaquin National Cemetery, April 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.
