CHARLES J. O’CONNELL MAY 7, 1935-FEBRUARY 9, 2015

Charlie O’Connell, 79 passed suddenly on Monday, February 9th, 2015. He was born in New York City. He began his career in Roller Derby at a young age. He was known to many of his fans as #40...Mr. Roller Derby. He skated for the San Francisco Bombers for many years and was known all over the world. He eventually settled in the Bay Area. When he retired he owned and operated several businesses there. When he retired  he moved to Oakdale, Ca and went into rental properties. He spent most of the winters in Palm Desert, Ca. where he played as much golf as possible. He also was a member of the Oakdale Golf & Country Club for the past 23 years. Mr. O’Connell is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, they have known each other for over 50 years, Judi McGuire-Connell. He is also survived by half-sisters Patty and Gerry, daughter Christine Zittell and son Charlie O’Connell and his wife Jin, step-daughter Sharliee Cantal, grand daughter Brittaney O’Connell, grandson Darne’ Cantal, grand daughter Chyanne Felber and her husband Matt and great grand daughter Jocelyn Felber. Private services will be held by family. Donations can be made in Charles’ name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. We all loved this man and his wonderful sense of humor.
