Charles DeForest ‘Chuck’ Proctor, 45, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, Sept. 25 after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Wellsville, New York. He lived in Oakdale for approximately nine years.

Mr. Proctor worked in customer service for many years and made a multitude of friends in doing so.

He spent his last few days in hospice care and the family extends special thanks to the entire staff at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House.

He is survived by his son, Christopher M. Proctor of Oakdale; brothers, Roger (Gloria) Proctor of Corning, NY, Kip Proctor of Florida; sisters, Susan Proctor, Darlene (Jesse) Proctor of Madera; sister-in-law, Anne Proctor of Elmira, NY; best friend, Jeanne (Jack) Coley of Madera; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Spence; mother, Susan Proctor; brothers, Robert Proctor and Arnold Proctor.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
