Barbara Cornelia (Bijman) Dykzeul, 87, of Oakdale, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and loved ones on February 12, 2024. Barbara was born on February 27, 1936 to Gerrit and Anna Bijman in Haarlem, The Netherlands where she spent her early years.

Barbara immigrated to the United States in 1957 and soon after married Theodore “Ted” Dykzeul. Barbara, with her husband, planted roots in Oakdale, CA where they began their marriage, grew a dairy business, and raised their six children. Barbara, lovingly known as “Tante Babs” or “Oma”, most valued her family. Her time on the ranch was filled with doting over her grandchildren, enjoying her passion for gardening, and maintaining a beautiful home.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother (Gerard), sister (Coby), as well as numerous in laws, nieces and nephews. Barbara is survived by her six children John, Peter, Theodore (Linda), Jeff (Teresa), Bart, and Coby Walther (Darren); her 10 grandchildren; her sister (El); her in laws, and her nieces and nephews.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren. In remembrance of her life, a Rosary was held on Sunday, February 25, 2024; a Mass followed on Monday, February 26. Both services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oakdale.
