The Oakdale High School Water Polo Program will host its annual Funathlon fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Oakdale High School Aquatics Facility, 739 W. G St., Oakdale.

Check-in will be held from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. The main event begins at 8:30 a.m., with participants encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start. The 13-and-under division will begin at 8:10 a.m.

The event features swimming, bicycling and running competitions for individuals and relay teams.

The standard course includes: 500-yard swim; 5.25-mile bike ride; 1.5-mile run.

A shortened course is available for participants ages 13 and younger: 150-yard swim; 1.75-mile bike ride; 0.75-mile run.

All cyclists are required to wear a helmet. Electric bicycles are not permitted.

Registration is $50 for individual participants and $90 for relay teams of two or three participants. The 13-and-under division is $40 for individuals and $60 for relay teams. Participants ages 13 and younger who choose to compete in the full course will pay the standard registration fee and compete in the youth division.

Age divisions include: 13 and under (coed); 14–17; 18–28; 29–39; 40 and older.

Relay teams will compete as coed teams within their assigned age division. Teams with members from multiple age groups will compete in the oldest applicable division.

Payment is due on the day of the event. Cash and checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to OHS Water Polo.

All participants must complete a liability waiver before competing. Printed waivers may be brought to check-in, or completed on-site before the event.

Community members who do not wish to participate may make a donation to support the Oakdale High School Water Polo Program. According to organizers, all proceeds from the event and donations benefit the student-athletes.
