Volunteer Work Day Coming On April 29
LO 4-5

Love Oakdale’s City-Wide Volunteer Day projects are now live on the program’s website and sign-ups are being taken for the day of service, scheduled for Saturday, April 29.

Volunteers can select the project they want to be involved in by going to the website, checking out the service opportunities available and choosing the one that works best for them. The website is: https://loveoakdale.com.

The Love Oakdale event will begin at 8 a.m. on April 29 with a kickoff rally in the Community Park, including the awards presentations, and volunteers will then fan out across the community to join in the citywide work day.

Among the projects in need of volunteers: the Stanislas River Clean-up near the Oakdale Shopping Center along the river adjacent to Cost Less; Waste Removal Team for alley clean up, along West F and West G streets between South Bryan and West Avenue; window washing at Center for Human Services, clean-up of Sierra Road between Pedersen and Orsi; Oakdale Community Sharing beautification, Cloverland Elementary School clean up, the cookies and cards for seniors project to deliver homemade goods and cheer to local senior citizens; and more.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome; organizers encourage everyone interested to sign up early and join other community members in “Loving our city.”

Along with the April 29 Love Oakdale work day, a new effort through the organization is fast approaching as well.

May 6, 2023 is opening day for the Oakdale Morning Market, a project of Love Oakdale. The market will be hosted every Saturday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., May 6 through Sept. 30, 2023.
