Oakdale’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Romain Schell Post 2922 is planning a Corn Hole Tournament and Family Fun Day in Oakdale on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Red Park, 1717 Greger St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Besides the $500 first prize tournament, plans are to have a bounce house, vendors and family oriented activities.

Money raised at the event will go to help fund the veterans group’s charitable activities such as helping needy veterans and their families, providing scholarships for local students and contributing to local youth organizations. They are currently soliciting corporate and local business sponsorships and have several different levels of support which include business name on a banner, tournament corn hole boards featuring company logos and free entries into the tournament.

They are also looking for food and crafts vendors wanting to participate. The tournament will be comprised of two person teams at a cost of $40 per team. Any persons or businesses wishing to enter a team, be a sponsor or a vendor can do so by logging onto www.eventbrite.com/vfwcornhole or logging onto the VFW 2922 Facebook page and follow the link to eventbrite. They can also contact Darren Nunes at (209) 202-1898 or Jim Duty at (719) 659-2026.
