It’s Harvest Festival Time in Valley Home! What a wonderful Autumn feeling has settled over Valley Home. As they days get shorter and the nights grow colder we know we have said goodbye to another California summer. Years past in Valley Home at this time of year it was rice harvest time. I remember looking across the fields of freshly irrigated rice in Valley Home and thinking what a lovely and peaceful place to live! With a brilliant sunset sinking into the evening sky, the fiery orange, the hot pinks, the hues of deep blue with purple mixed in, the sunset reflected in the shimmering waters of the Valley Home rice fields became one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Now we can still see those same beautiful harvest sunsets although they have now mostly set against young almond orchards and lush green clover pastures. Harvest time in Valley Home is a special season and we are proud to be a part of our Valley Home school tribute to this time honored season. As we enjoy our Harvest Festival this weekend, we especially appreciate the hard work of the Valley Home farmers and ranchers at harvest time.
