It is always nice to share Holiday visits enjoyed by our Valley Home residents. Hazel Rushman and family members enjoyed a combined Thanksgiving dinner and birthday party at her granddaughter Stacy and husband Tom Murphy’s home in Delhi. Hazel’s twin great, great granddaughters, Rylee Brooke-Lynn and Madison Elizabeth Murphy celebrated their first birthday. The birthday cake was frosted in pink and purple, with a candle placed for each twin. Each twin had a small cake to eat in their highchairs, and they had fun eating it. It was cute to watch the twins enjoy their cake, but what a mess, Hazel tells us! On hand to enjoy Thanksgiving and birthday festivities were Dawson and Chole Murphy and great grandparents Lloyd and Gaye Lairemore of Turlock and Tom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy and family. Hazel says the twins are just taking their first steps. It was a wonderful day for all!

Hazel tells us that her daughter, Pat Carpenter and husband, Frank, from Dayton, Nevada, arrived here in Valley Home on Saturday and the family enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner again. Family members Lloyd and Gaye Lairemore, and Hazel’s grandson, Anthony Echols traveled from his home in Carson City to enjoy dinner with the family.

Plans are definitely under way for the Valley Home Community Parade and Potluck Dinner to be held on Saturday, December 12th beginning at 5:30 with the parade. There is still time to get your entries in. Contact Jenna at 848-0378 to enter the parade. Remember, this is a lighted parade, so be sure to cover your entry with Christmas lights! This year’s parade Grand Marshal will be Elsie Martin. The Valley Home 4-H’ers are so proud to have Ms. Elsie leading the parade! Best viewing for the parade is in front of the entrance to the “old” school! Remember to dress warm, the nights are pretty chilly now!

Our Valley Home 4-H’ers wish to remind you that there will be a potluck dinner to follow the parade over at the Valley Home multipurpose building! The 4-H group will provide turkey, drinks, plates and utensils, so please bring a dish to share and enjoy with all your Valley Home friends!

Valley Home 4-H is also celebrating 50 years as a 4-H Club, so look for a special entry in the parade celebrating our 50 Years!
