Hi all … I hope you each are doing well and are excited for our Oakdale Rodeo this weekend.
It’s so much fun to see so many horse trailers, cattle trailers and pickup trucks from all around this great country coming in for our Oakdale Rodeo. Every year at rodeo time, I love to sit on my front porch and watch our Valley Home Road as those beautiful trailers come rolling into town. It’s a very special time of the year for sure. Our community grows by huge numbers as the ranchers send their best cowboys and cowgirls into town to rodeo. Our local cowgirls and cowboys are extremely talented, and each of them look forward to this weekend. For me, as I get a bit older, I have really learned to appreciate the hard work and the efforts of our rodeo folks. Whether you are a contestant or the hard-working folks who get our Oakdale rodeo grounds ready for ‘Rodeo Weekend’ … you are greatly appreciated. I hope each one of you reading this will take the time to listen to a very special song, “Running Through The Rain” – cowboy and singing legend Chris LeDoux wrote this great song about our Oakdale Rodeo.
He was a very special cowboy and loved the Western way of life.
Our Oakdale Rodeo brings out the greatest cowboys and cowgirls; the rodeo parade starts at 9 am Saturday downtown, with the rodeo kicking off with a 1:30 pm Grand Entry both Saturday and Sunday at the Oakdale Saddle Club Grounds.
