So happy to have Rex and Julie Beth Lamb living in Valley Home. The Lambs are such a wonderful family to have in a community, whether it be Knights Ferry or Valley Home. Our community is blessed to have them!

We have received some really great ideas for our community park fundraisers! Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas. It’s not too late, still time to share your ideas! We will be having a park meeting in February. Date and times to be announced. Everyone is welcome. Remember our community park belongs to each one of us! We also need to put together a spring/summer mowing schedule. I hope you will all consider volunteering for a turn mowing, many hands make light work. We are sure blessed to live in Valley Home!

Exciting news from our Valley Home 4-H! Valley Home 4-Hers will be holding their annual Box Social fundraiser on Tuesday, February 13th. There will be a short club meeting at 7 p.m. with the Box Social beginning immediately after! This fun event is a great fundraiser for the club. The Box Social is highlighted by a live auction with many exciting items up for bid! In the past there has been fruit trees, rose bushes, Round-Up, horseshoe art, jewelry, John Deere gifts, and hay etc. There are always delicious deserts such as strawberry and banana pies, blackberry, apple, and cherry pies, along with eight-layer chocolate mousse cake, and coconut cake! It is a fun night with lots of friendly bidding back and forth among the crowd of supporters! This year there will likely be an abundance of delicious and beautiful Valentine gifts, since the next day is Valentine’s Day. Please come out and support our 4-Hers! They would truly appreciate your support.

Oakdale FFA Officers went to Monterey this past Sunday and Monday. What a wonderful learning experience for this great group of kids! Earlier this week the FFA members enjoyed a toasty bonfire at the school farm. The school farm is such a beautiful place; it has many learning opportunities, and with its big red barn it is absolutely the most stunning place, a place where students are getting a top notch education along with a tremendous experience. Special thanks to our dedicated Ag Teachers, school staff and administration!
