Merry Christmas to All!
It seems like just yesterday it was summertime and now here we are ... it’s almost Christmastime. What a special time of the year it is.
Here in Valley Home, we celebrate each Christmas season with our traditional Lighted Old Fashioned Christmas Parade. Once again we will gather together and enjoy Christmas in our beautiful Valley Home. Although small in size our little Lighted Christmas Parade honors the birth of Baby Jesus and also the special rural way of life God has blessed us with here in Valley Home! We will meet on Friday, December 16 at 6:30 pm (by the park and school). No sign ups; just bring your safe and Lighted Christmas Parade entry, maybe a decorated float or a decorated car, golf cart, buggy, bicycle, horse, carriage, really anything safe and decorated to celebrate Christmas!
This year our Parade Grand Marshals are Mrs. Loretta Steele and Mr. Gary Steele. This very special long time Valley Home family is well known and deeply respected throughout our Valley Home community. Gary and Loretta’s daughter Kathy attended Valley Home School, she served for years on our Valley Home School Board, and as a Club Leader for our Valley Home 4-H. This amazing family has been involved for many, many years with service to our Valley Home community. Gary and Loretta have been a part of almost every event that happens here! Along with Loretta and Gary, their daughter Kathy and her husband Phillip have worked so hard to help make our Valley Home community such a great place to live. Kathy and Phillip’s children Emily and Zach both attended Valley Home School and enjoyed their years of community service through school and 4-H. Emily is married to Garrett Worley, they have two adorable children, Heston Worley and Grahm Worley. Zach is married to his wife, also an Emily, and they have two amazing children, Brooks Brown and Mollie Shepherd.
On Christmas Day, Loretta and Gary will celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on Christmas Day in 1963. We are blessed to have them in Valley Home.
Gary and Loretta Steele are both very special people, community minded, kind and caring; we are deeply honored to have them as our 2022 Valley Home Christmas Parade Grand Marshals!
Once again, this year our parade entries will meet near the park and the school. Please be in line before 6:30 pm. Our Grand Marshals will lead us three times around the block and back to the park, where they will light our Community Christmas Tree! We will sing two beautiful Christmas Carols together and then enjoy a very special Christmas Nativity Scene in the Park Pavilion. Again this year we are all invited to honor our sweet Bonnie’s memory. In honor of Bonnie’s love of sharing, please bring a dozen cookies to share, homemade or store bought. Bring a dozen, take a dozen home. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to bring cookies; there will be plenty for all to munch on during the evening. We will have delicious hot chocolate ready and waiting for you. I hope you all can come and enjoy this very special night in Valley Home!
Remember, Santa will be arriving to celebrate this special evening with us as well.
