Valley Home School students celebrated Red Ribbon Week this past week with fun clothing choices every day! On Thursday they enjoyed an awesome BMX assembly in the morning and class parties in the afternoon. In between they enjoyed their annual parade through Valley Home. The kids all dressed in their favorite costumes and each class trick-or-treated Susan’s General Store and parents along the route. When the students arrived on Michigan Street they were excited to see Officer Tom Olsen from the California Highway Patrol, Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputy Kevin Melao, and our Modesto City Firefighters Adam French, Dustin Andersen and Josh Garcia. The students were each given treats and enjoyed seeing their heroes up close! It was an awesome day with school being dismissed at 12:30pm. Our Valley Home students would like to say thank you to all who made this such a great day!

We have a few notes from our October 26th Harvest Festival! The chicken that Mr. David Xavier donated was so delicious one youngster ate seven pieces in one setting. Thank you Mr. Xavier and family. Bryan Martin’s big red tractor was a hit with the youngsters before the hayride even started. The kids jumped with joy when farmer Bryan and cute farmer girl Kimber rolled through the school gates. Folks lined up early at the Harvest Sweet Shop to buy Mrs. Mattos’s famous Portuguese Sweet Bread. What a fun night!
