Traffic Stop Leads To Riverbank Man’s Arrest

A Riverbank man remained in custody in the San Joaquin County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 25 following his arrest earlier in Lodi.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department, Manuel Quintero, 30, of Riverbank was arrested during a traffic stop in Lodi. The incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 19 after deputies pulled his vehicle over for assorted traffic violations about 3:30 p.m.

The traffic stop took place near Highway 99 and Harney Lane and, according to the sheriff’s department, deputies found 27 pounds of methamphetamine in Quintero’s vehicle during the traffic stop. According to information released by the sheriff’s department, Quintero displayed signs of intoxication and said he had drugs with him; a K-9 narcotics officer alerted to a package inside the vehicle that was found to contain the meth.

Quintero was subsequently booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on multiple preliminary charges related to drug trafficking.
