Average gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 8.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.57/gallon as of Monday, July 24, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 201 stations in Modesto. Prices in Modesto are 5.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 96.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 2.7 cents in the last week and stands at $3.83 per gallon.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Modesto was priced at $4.19/gallon while the most expensive was $5.19, a difference of 100.0 cents per gallon. The lowest price in the state was $4.07/gallon while the highest was $18.00/gallon, a difference of $13.93/gallon.
The national average price of gasoline has risen 2.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.55/gallon on July 24. The national average is down 0.4 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 78.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
Neighboring areas and their current gas prices include: Stockton - $4.56/gallon, down 8.1 cents per gallon from $4.64; Oakland - $4.83, down 1.1 cents per gallon from $4.84; and San Jose - $4.79/gallon, up 0.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $4.79/gallon.
