Robbery Suspect Believed To Be Parolee

Police believe the suspect responsible for the robbery is Michael Anthony Ruelas, a wanted parolee.

About 4 p.m. Thursday, Oakdale Police issued an update on the robbery at Valley First Credit Union. Police said they have reason to believe the suspect responsible for the robbery is Michael Anthony Ruelas, a wanted parolee and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.

Ruelas, aka: “Bandit”, is a 30-year-old Hispanic male adult, 5’05’’, 172 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos including a tattoo of musical notes behind his left ear. Ruelas is a parolee and currently wanted for a parole violation and robbery. He is reportedly transient and frequents the Modesto, Ceres and Turlock areas. He is associated with a white Mercedes-Benz, E320 sedan, California License # 5VOW698.

On February 7, 2019, at approximately 12:41 p.m., Oakdale Police received reports a robbery occurred at Valley First Credit Union located at 126 West “F” Street. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20’s, wearing a grey jacket, approached a bank teller and produced a note demanding money. After receiving cash, the suspect fled southbound from the bank on foot and was possibly seen a short time later northwest of the bank in the Poplar area.
