Firefighters from Station 28 in Oakdale were kept busy on multiple calls during the past week. Top photo, on Monday, April 6 just before 7 a.m., Engines 28, 27, and Battalion 5 responded to a single vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Yosemite Avenue and East Greger in Oakdale. Crews arrived to find one patient in the roadway with life threatening injuries. The patient was stabilized on scene then transported to an area hospital by air ambulance. At side, an April 1 incident shortly before 1 p.m. saw Engine 28 respond to a reported vehicle on fire in the 500 block of Armstrong Way. Engine 28 arrived to find a fully involved pickup and quickly extinguished the fire. Other calls during the week included an April 1, 2 p.m. motor vehicle accident in Oakdale, ear East G and South Third. Engine 28 removed the driver’s door of the vehicle to gain access to the driver and assisted with patient care. Also, on Saturday, April 4 just before 7:30 a.m., Modesto Engine 28, 27, Battalion 5, Stanislaus Q22, Oakdale Police and Oak Valley Ambulance responded to a vehicle accident at River Road and Valley Home Road in Oakdale. Crews arrived on scene and found all occupants out of the vehicles. No injuries were reported. CHP is investigating.
