After 19 years of dedication, technical training, and hands-on experience, Haidlen Ford technician Ryan Presfield has achieved one of the highest honors in his profession: Ford Senior Master Technician status.

Established in 1993, Ford Motor Company’s Masters Program recognizes the technical training accomplishments of Ford and Lincoln dealership technicians nationwide. Senior Master is the program’s highest technician distinction, requiring years of experience, extensive coursework, and advanced expertise in engine, chassis, and drivetrain systems.

For Presfield, who has spent his entire 19-year automotive career at Haidlen Ford, the achievement represents years of commitment to an industry that is constantly evolving. With 31 certifications completed, his journey has involved countless hours of training while maintaining a full-time workload in the dealership’s service department.

“I feel like I’ve already been doing the work. Now I have the title,” Presfield said.

His passion for mechanics began at a young age, taking things apart and repairing small engines. At 16, he purchased a 1966 Volkswagen Bug, which further fueled his interest in understanding how vehicles work.

Today, that curiosity continues to drive him.

“It’s like a puzzle that most people can’t figure out,” Presfield said when describing what he enjoys most about being a technician.

As automotive technology advances, he emphasizes the importance of continuing education. Modern vehicles require technicians to understand sophisticated electronics, computer programming, and complex communication networks in addition to traditional mechanical systems.

“Things are changing constantly,” Presfield explained.

He credits his wife and parents for their encouragement, along with Haidlen Ford owner Erich Haidlen, who supported his professional development and technical training throughout his career.

A lifelong Oakdale resident, Presfield takes pride in serving the community he calls home, where many customers are familiar faces.

“We are incredibly proud of Ryan and this well-deserved achievement. His 19 years of dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence truly reflect the values of Haidlen Ford,” said owner Erich Haidlen. “Having a homegrown Oakdale technician reach this level of accomplishment makes it even more special. We’re proud to have supported his journey and even prouder to have him as part of our team.”

Although achieving Senior Master status marks a significant milestone, Presfield said that he isn’t finished learning. His next goal is to continue advancing his expertise through Ford’s diesel training program.

Haidlen Ford proudly congratulates Ryan Presfield on this outstanding achievement and recognizes his 19 years of loyalty, dedication, and commitment to providing exceptional service to the Oakdale community.
