The community of Oakdale will once again present Love Oakdale on Saturday, April 25, 2020. Planning for the annual event has begun and the first meeting to get organized for the effort is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. at the OJUSD Tech Center, 331 Hinkley Ave., Oakdale.

Love Oakdale is a volunteer-driven community service event which is typically hosted in the spring each year. Goal of the day of service is to help complete a variety of projects at school campuses and parks, aid the elderly by doing yard work or clean-up for seniors and also assisting local veterans. Many communities around the region offer the ‘Love’ event on the same day and, here, a Love Oakdale website set up ahead of time is utilized for people to suggest projects and also serves as a ‘sign-up sheet’ to volunteer for a specific community project.
