Oldies But Goodies Event Slated Oct. 2

Central Valley Community Resources (CVCR) is hosting an ‘Oldies But Goodies’ fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Escalon Sportsmen’s Club, with a variety of events scheduled for the afternoon and evening.

The car, truck, motorcycle, and custom bicycle show will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There is no entry fee for the car show and interested parties are asked to register by Thursday, Sept. 30.

There will be a no host bar from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and a dance starts at 6 p.m. and is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Doors open at 3 p.m. and there will prizes awarded for the best costume and best dressed couple as guests are encouraged to dress in ‘50s era attire. There will be BBQ tri-tip and chicken sandwiches available for $10.

All funds raised at the event will be used for the Temporary Housing Program and Foster Care at risk young adults ages 18-21. CVCR CEO Darlene Barber Martinez noted that they teach life skills through the program so that the participants can become successful.

CVCR is a 501c3 non-profit organization that assists people within the community.
