OHS: Past To Present For Homecoming Week
seniors paint.jpg
The Class of 2019 worked solo on Sunday, Oct. 7 creating the windows reflecting Mustangs of the future. Staying dedicated to this theme, the senior class spent Saturday taking SAT’s rather than painting with their fellow classes.

The city streets are alive with color thanks to painted windows on the west end of town as Oakdale High School observes Homecoming Week. The addition of the campus marking its 125th Anniversary has created a special synergy as the past unites with the present. The window painting was done over the weekend by Mustang classes.

Themed windows representing past generations include the 1920s by the freshman class; the 1950s by the sophomores; 1970s by the juniors and Future Mustangs by the senior members of the Class of 2019.

Dress days throughout the week replicate the window themes.

The ever popular Powder Puff game will be hosted at The Corral tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.

King and Prince Coronation will be observed during halftime. Coronation for the Queen and Princess candidates will take place on Friday during halftime of the varsity football game, as the Mustangs welcome Kimball to town for a Valley Oak League showdown.

The Homecoming Parade will be a special affair on Friday, Oct. 12 as the current Mustangs are joined by alum from many past years as the event makes its way down G Street. The parade begins at 1 p.m. and will have entries from the 125th Anniversary committee, as well as those from OHS student body and leadership group, the Homecoming candidates, class floats and more.
