McHenry Mansion Holiday Events, Docent Training Set

Some special events are coming up at the McHenry Mansion in Modesto in November and December, while a new training session for docents will begin in 2023.

First up, McHenry Mansion’s Christmas Fair is scheduled for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, on Nov. 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Mansion, at 15th Street in Modesto between I and J streets, will be open and decorated in Victorian Christmas splendor. There will be children’s activities, holiday music, and horse-drawn wagon rides. The McHenry Mansion gift shop will be open and a street fair will be located between I and J streets.

In December, join in for the festive McHenry Mansion Candlelight Tours, 906 15th St., Modesto. Tours are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17 and Sunday, Dec. 18 beginning at 5 p.m., with the last entrance for tours at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under. Learn the history of some favorite holiday traditions and enjoy the Victorian Christmas decorations.

Finally, the McHenry Mansion new docent orientation and training starts Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., at the mansion on 15th Street.

The first session begins with a new docent orientation which will be followed by training classes. The classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting on Jan. 25 and continue for eight weeks.
