Oakdale Police responded to a traffic collision involving a Chevrolet pickup truck striking a 71-year-old disabled woman riding a motorized scooter on Monday, Feb 25.

According to Oakdale Police Sergeant Brian Shimmel, the accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. on West F Street at South Oak Avenue and the woman was crossing the street in a crosswalk.

Due to the extent of the injuries, she had to be medi-flighted to Doctors Hospital in Modesto.

“The driver in the pickup was sitting kind of high and may not have seen her,” said Shimmel.

Police stated the driver of the pickup was at fault for the collision but was not cited.
