Escalon Parks Foundation will host a wine booth at this year’s Park Fete July 12 and 13 in downtown Escalon. Last year’s wine booth was a new offering at Park Fete and well received by attendees. The booth will be serving red and white wine donated by Gallo Family Vineyards. Drink tokens will be $5 each and redeemable for beer or wine. Token sales close at 9:30 p.m. each day.

All proceeds from the wine sales will support the design, development, and construction of a community skate park. The booth will be next to the community stage on Main Street, near the historic caboose.

“The wine booth came as a nice surprise to Park Fete attendees last year and helped build awareness for the development of a local skate board park. Many people expressed support and interest in donating,” said Mike Roarke, Foundation President. “The Board is committed to seeing this project through; however, the amount of funding required will take time to secure. To date the Board has consulted with skate board park design firms, visited other community parks and consulted with their city officials, and started recruiting volunteers for our planning committees.”

The wine booth will be open for business on Friday, July 12 from 4 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. (sales only until 9:30 p.m.) and on Saturday, July 13 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (sales close at 9:30 p.m.)

Community members interested in serving on a planning committee to support the skate park can send a message through the Escalon Parks Foundation Facebook page.
