The Oakdale Garden Club invites the community-at-large to attend its 2018 event entitled the ‘Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ at their annual outdoor Festival of Trees celebration on Friday, Nov. 23.

Co-hosted with the City of Oakdale, the lighting ceremony of some 28 brightly decorated artificial trees, each sponsored by local businesses and/or individuals, will begin at 5 p.m.

The Oakdale Garden Club provides the already lighted trees, while sponsors provide decorations of their choosing, whether traditional or theme-related.

Always held in Oakdale’s Wood Park, at Yosemite and F streets, visitors will be serenaded with music of the holiday season and served warm apple cider and cookies while enjoying the many colorfully decorated Christmas trees in the heart of town.

Children of all ages will have photo opportunities with a blow-up Grinch and Dog. Plus there will be a special visit from the girl who stole the heart of the Grinch, Miss Cindy Lou Who. And there will also be a coloring table for kids set up in the Park’s gazebo. The fun doesn’t end there, however, as raffle tickets will be selling at three for $1 for a chance to win Who-type gifts.
