Vickie Thompson accepts a check for payment from one of many who attended a Spirit of Oakdale mixer on this past week at the H-B saloon. The mixer was to encourage and accept payment for name plates to be ordered for future placement around the iconic ‘Yesterday Is Tomorrow’ cowboy statue along East F Street near the Oakdale Cowboy Museum. Proceeds from the sales benefit the Spirit of Oakdale Community dinner and may still be ordered at Bloomingcamp Ranch Bake Shop or by calling Thompson at (209) 606-3893. Returning for a visit to the Cowboy Capital, Rachel Flournoy and daughter Kate, 10 months, made the fundraiser one of their first stops in the 95361. Flournoy now resides in Italy and attended to support the event as well as lifelong friend Thompson.
