School Boards Welcome FOCUS
stan coe

Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager announced Tuesday that she and representatives from her office, the Stanislaus County Probation Department and Scott Kuykendall, the Assistant Superintendent of Stanislaus County Office of Education, are scheduled to attend upcoming meetings of the Knights Ferry and Oakdale School Boards. They will highlight the progress and successes of the Focus on Children Under Stress (FOCUS) program in Knights Ferry, Oakdale and the county.

The program is designed to give notice to a school when a student has been exposed to a traumatic event so that the school can take steps to ameliorate that trauma and ensure the student’s continued success.

The regular meeting of the Knights Ferry School Board will be on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the School Multipurpose Room at 12726 Dent Street, Knights Ferry.

The Oakdale School Board regular meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14 and will be held in the City Council Chambers at 277 N. Second Ave., Oakdale.
