Ritland Offers Address At MJC Veterans Day

Modesto Junior College Veteran Services invites the community to a Veteran’s Day Celebration featuring a keynote address by Mike Ritland on Monday, Nov.6 at 7 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The event is open to the public and admission and parking are free.

The evening honors the men and women actively serving or who have served in the military. In addition to the guest speaker, the K-9 units from Modesto Police Department and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department are providing demonstrations with their specially trained dogs.

Ritland served 12 years as a U.S. Navy SEAL in Operation Iraqi Freedom and multiple Special Forces missions. He has served as a Navy special warfare multi-purpose canine trainer.

After his military service, Ritland began Trikos International which specializes in providing private protection K9s to government agencies and high-net-worth Individuals. He is the author of three New York Times best-selling books: Trident K9 Warriors, Navy SEAL Dogs and TEAM Dog.
