Oakdale, Riverbank Join Forces To Offer Relay
Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oakdale-Riverbank will be hosting its kickoff for the 2017 event later this month.

Riverbank, which has had its own Relay For Life for the past several years, will this year run in conjunction with Oakdale. Originally, the two cities worked together on the event, with several teams from the Riverbank area setting up at the Oakdale Relay. The Riverbank-Oakdale collaboration for 2017 is a common theme for the local ACS, as many smaller Relays are consolidating to work with larger cities, offering fewer overall events but each one a larger Relay.

The annual ACS Relay For Life of Oakdale-Riverbank will officially kick off the fundraising season and begin registration for teams on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Mountain View Church Youth Lodge/Oakdale Youth Academy, 357 N. Eighth Ave., Oakdale.

Event Lead for the 2017 Oakdale-Riverbank Relay For Life is Andrea Fogelman, with other leads including Michelle Hood for Fund the Mission, Sandra Whiteman as the People Lead and Deanna Medrano as the Experience Lead. There are opportunities available to serve on the committee and work with any of the leads to help put on the 2017 event.

More information is also available by visiting the website at RelayForLife.org or relayforlife.org/oakdaleca.

Fogelman can be reached at 707-685-3848 and all interested are welcome to attend the Nov. 17 kickoff.

Fundraising through the ACS Relay For Life supports the American Cancer Society’s mission to prevent cancer, save lives and diminish suffering from the disease.

“I look forward to working with all of you as we work together to show Relay Nation how amazing our little towns are,” Fogelman said.
