A swearing in ceremony for newly elected council members Tom Dunlop, Farrell Jackson, and Donald Petersen, incoming City Treasurer Carolyn Wheeler, and City Clerk Kathy Teixeira will be held prior to the regularly scheduled Oakdale City Council Meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, at the city council chambers on North Second Avenue.

Outgoing Councilwoman Kathy Morgan, Treasurer J.R. McCarty and retiring City Clerk Nancy Lilly will also be recognized for their service. A small reception will follow before the 7 p.m. regular meeting.

Monday’s agenda is very brief with no staff reports or public hearings, however, the new council is scheduled to discuss the appointment of a new city manager in closed session.

Some city officials have indicated that a selection may be announced at that time. The city manager position has been filled by interim personnel since the firing of former city manager Steve Hallam in April of 2011.
