The Friends of Oakdale Heritage (FOH) organization is continuing its membership drive after handing out numerous applications for membership and docents at the Oakdale Chocolate Festival on May 16 and 17.
“We were really pleased with the interest people had in getting the museum open,” said Barbara Torres, an FOH board member.
The group is in the process of raising funds and signing up volunteers to support the Oakdale Museum, which they hope to reopen in the coming months. FOH signed a 10-year contract with the City of Oakdale last month to run the city museum.
Those wishing to become charter members of the organization can join FOH with a $25 yearly membership fee. Couples can join for $40, and families (with children 17 and under) can join for $50.
Business memberships are also available, starting at $100.
Those wishing to join FOH may email the group at friendsofoakdaleheritage@gmail.com, or leave a message at the Oakdale Museum at 847-9229.
