MARKET NIGHT

September will be the final month for visitors to peruse and purchase the goods at the weekly downtown Oakdale Farmers Market, offered each Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on North Third Avenue, between E and F streets. Organizers said they are hopeful the September weather will be more conducive to bringing crowds to the market for the final four Wednesdays, as triple digit heat has plagued the gathering several times this season. Pam Hernandez with Pam’s Crafts of Modesto said she has sold roughly 1,000 homemade cool neck wraps at the market this year – they have been a hot commodity. Fresh fruits, vegetables, crafts, hummus, pastries, food, merchandise and more are featured at the weekly market.
