The kickoff rally is planned for 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 23 at Wood Park in Oakdale, in the heart of downtown, as work crews gather together before heading out to Love Oakdale.
The annual communitywide day of service has multiple projects scheduled for Saturday, many of them kid-friendly and all designed to lend a helping hand where it is needed.
There will be encouragement teams heading to the Oak Valley Care Center to visit with residents, there will be clean up teams going to Kerr Park and the Cottles Trail, among others, along with some private residences with painting and yard work being done.
Some of the projects have their full complement of volunteers; others still need help. Those interested in taking part can show up for the rally on Saturday morning and get assigned to a work team.
