Largent Claims Seat On Escalon School Board

Longtime Escalon Unified School District board member John Largent was returned to the board by an overwhelming majority in the Tuesday election.

Largent, with 290 votes in the race for his Dent Urban seat on the board, won re-election over challenger Erica McCulloch. In her first bid for a seat, McCulloch tallied 173 votes. Largent had roughly 62 percent of the vote, McCulloch 37 percent, with one reported write-in vote.

In other results from the Nov. 4 election, retired CHP Commander Chuck Winn earned the County Supervisor District 4 post, polling 52 percent of the vote to Russ Munson’s 48 percent. Winn will take over the post being vacated by current District 4 Supervisor Ken Vogel and will represent the Escalon area on the county board.

The County Superintendent of Schools race went to James Mousalimas, 55 percent, over Jeff Tilton, 45 percent, with all precincts in San Joaquin County reporting in.

In the Central San Joaquin Water Conservation District, Grant Thompson was overwhelmingly returned to his seat, with 74 percent of the vote, compared to 26 percent garnered by challenger James Pilkington.
