With the recent acceptance of the resignation from Chief Matt Daly, the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District Board of Directors had a special session on Monday, April 3. The meeting was hosted at the Station 26 Meeting Room, 3318 Topeka St., Riverbank at 6 p.m. Monday.

A Public Comment period was offered and then the board was scheduled to adjourn to a Closed Session with two items due for discussion: Public Employment – Fire Chief and Public Employee Appointment – Fire Chief.

Board President Susan Zanker announced that the Board took two actions during closed session as follows: The Board acted to extend a conditional offer of employment to Richard Weigele, to the position of Fire Chief and; the Board acted to appoint Vice-President Michelle Guzman and Director Dave Woods to an Ad-Hoc committee for the purpose of negotiating contract discussions of the Fire Chief, for ultimate action by the Board of Directors.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the district board will be Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m. in the Station 26 meeting room.
