The Central Valley Association of Realtors (CVAR) Oakdale Council will host a community picnic benefiting their local scholarship fund on Aug. 11 at Dorada Park from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

No registration or sign-up necessary; tickets are $10/adult and $6/child and are available upon arrival or in advance.

The event is hosted and entirely funded through local CVAR-Realtors in Oakdale for the support of the local community through benefits, scholarships, and educational needs for promising young students. The picnic will be a casual event, with lots of food and drinks. There will also be a silent auction, music cake walk, and lots of games and prizes, all to benefit the scholarship fund.

The CVAR and their seven-member councils have notably supported their communities for the last 10 years through the CVAR-Charitable Foundation, located on their web-site at: cvar.org/about-cvar/charitable-foundation/.

According to the CVAR Board President Christine Lynch, “We are so proud of the work our volunteer leaders and local membership do, to promote and help local communities.”

Lynch also added, “Sometimes it’s hard for us to believe but over the last 10 years the CVAR Charitable Foundation has proudly donated over $1.5 million to local communities in the Central Valley.”

Byron Bogaard, Association Executive for CVAR said, “I can’t encourage people enough to be sure they are using a local Realtor that from a trusted source. When making the biggest purchasing decision of one’s life, people should be sure they are represented by a local Realtor who will benefit their client and community in the best way possible. The CVAR-Oakdale picnic will be a lot of fun, open to all, and is for a great cause. CVAR’s Charitable Foundation is something we are all proud of here, and the picnic is a great example of Central Valley Association of Realtors and our Realtor members dedicating their time and energy for their local community in Oakdale.”

The CVAR has been serving its member Realtors in the two counties and 16 cities of the Central Valley since 1998. CVAR has local councils in Manteca, Modesto, Tracy, Turlock, Oakdale, Stockton, & Westside (Patterson/Newman) and has led an active role in supporting local charities for the good of those communities. CVAR will continue to partner with its member-councils to continue its commitment to sound Realtor ethical practice, and support of local communities.
