Holiday Fundraiser

Soroptimist International of Oakdale will host its annual Holiday Luncheon and Silent Auction fundraiser on Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. A delicious lunch will be served as guests bid on holiday-themed items, baskets, and baked items that are ready for gift giving. Tickets are $105 in advance. America Recycles

In celebration of America Recycles Day on Wednesday, Nov. 15, the City of Modesto, in partnership with Stanislaus County, is presenting a free showing of the documentary: A Plastic Ocean. The movie, about pollution in the world’s oceans, and using our oceans for global disposal, is being shown at 6 p.m. at the State Theatre, 1307 J St., Modesto. Everyone is welcome to attend, learn and share. Admission is free. The documentary runs one hour, 42 minutes and is not rated.

 

FFA Game Night

Oakdale High School FFA will host its 11th Annual Game Night on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Gene Bianchi Community Center. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. For additional information or to purchase tickets call 848-7169 or e-mail ehartzell@ojusd.org.

 

Church Bazaar

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is hosting its Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. The fair will be hosted at the Church Hall, 19399 E. Highway 120, Ripon, on Highway 120 between Escalon and Ripon. Goal of the craft fair is to raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul and needy residents in the area. Come see the variety of craft and holiday-themed items, make some purchases and support the mission of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

 

TOPS Meeting

 

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Oakdale hosts meetings every Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar St., Oakdale and are open to the community. For additional information call Chuck Berber at (650) 279-5310.
