Connection Luncheon

Oakdale’s Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 9 from noon to 1:45 p.m. at Papapolloni’s Mediterranean Bistro. Cost of lunch is $18. November’s luncheon will feature the group’s annual “Sweets and Treats” boutique benefitting Stonecroft Ministries. RSVP to Barbara at 847-5605 by Monday, Nov. 6.

 

YLI Craft Fair

St. Mary’s Y.L.I. hosts its 12th Annual Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. The event will be hosted at St. Mary’s Parish Center, 55 Oak St., Oakdale. Proceeds from the bake sale and raffle benefit Oakdale High School scholarships. For information call 209-985-1486.

 

Hurricane Benefit

Puerto Rican Organization United for Development, PROUD, is sponsoring a fundraiser for victims affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 and dinner-dance tickets are sold in advance only. Cost is $20 and include a chicken or pulled pork dinner, served from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Eagles Hall, 126 Camilla, Modesto. For the dance only, admission is $15 at the door, from 8 pm. to midnight; advance sale tickets are also available for the dance only at the same $15 price. Free Meal For Veterans

After successfully staging a ‘Veterans Eat Free’ event last Veterans Day, owner Tony Victorino at Hula’s in Escalon is going to do it again. Victorino has issued an invitation to all veterans – from Escalon, Oakdale, Riverbank and surrounding areas – to stop by the restaurant on Saturday, Nov. 11 to enjoy a free meal. Hours for the event will be the entire day on Nov. 11, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., with veterans invited to come in any time during the day for the free meal.

 

Saturday Boutique

The Farmington United Methodist Women are hosting their annual boutique on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 25626 E. Elm St., Farmington. Crafters have booked spaces at the church for the boutique and will be selling a variety of crafts, homemade items, baked goods and more. There will also be a soup and pie luncheon served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., so shoppers can do their shopping and then enjoy lunch, or eat first and then shop. A handmade quilt drawing is also planned; tickets will be available on site.

 

Accordion Club Meets

 

All are welcome to attend the upcoming accordion music and social on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. The gathering will be hosted at the Escalon Community Center, 1055 Escalon Ave., and will be the regular monthly meeting of the Good Time Accordion Club.
