Cocina Michoacana Fundraiser
Cowboy Statue

The Oakdale community has come together in recent weeks to help one of their own. A four-year-old Oakdale resident has been diagnosed with cancer, and several local business, along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation have come together to help her out.

Dr. Christina Chan, Oakdale Mixed Martial Arts Academy, Cahoots Corner Café, Rockin B Burgers and Oakdale’s Cocina Michoacana are all lending a hand in helping the young girl. Make-A-Wish stars can be purchased at all of those locations. On Wednesday, Feb. 3 Cocina Michoacana is donating 20 percent of their day’s profits to the girl’s Make-A-Wish wish.

The wish will be made public on Feb. 27 at Oakdale MMA. The Academy is hosting an eight hour workout that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help raise money for her and the wish effort. The workout will be eight different classes, one per hour focusing on various self-defense tactics.

Oakdale MMA is accepting donations at the Academy at 140 N. Second Ave.; make checks payable to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
