The Oakdale Chamber of Commerce is hosting a sip and shop event in Downtown Oakdale on Thursday, April 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. You’ll find a selection of wine or brews at each of the 12 participating merchants.

By wine tasting your way through area shops, the Chamber’s aim is to improve the local economy by promoting the Downtown as an entertainment district; thus, increasing patron’s awareness and building future clients for these businesses.

“The Chamber wants to promote an ‘Eat, Drink and Be Local’ mentality and events like Pour in Stores and Taste of Oakdale help showcase the very best of our community,” said Chamber CEO Mary Guardiola.

The event starts off in The Reata’s garden on E Street, where you will check in, receive your commemorative wine glass and a map of pouring locations. The Reata will offer the first taste of wines and invites guests to tour their facility. With a map in hand guests will visit the 13 participating merchants pouring a variety of wines, brews and non-alcoholic beverages making it a fun way to support your community and the Chamber.

The pouring begins at 5 p.m. on April 5. Pre-paid tickets are $25 or at the door for $35. You can register online at oakdalechamber.com or purchase tickets at the Oakdale Chamber. Additional event information can also be found on the Oakdale Chamber’s Facebook page.

“We strive to support the business community through advocacy, education and networking,” added Guardiola. “Our events add economic value to the community and enhance the quality of life.”
