Chamber Hosts Inaugural Downtown Pour In Stores
Chamber of Commerce

The Oakdale Chamber of Commerce will host a sip and shop event in Downtown Oakdale on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A selection of wine or brews at each of the nine participating merchants will be served.

Offering wine tasting through area shops the Chamber’s aim is to improve the local economy by promoting Downtown as an entertainment district; thus, increasing patron’s awareness and building future clients for the participating businesses. Chamber CEO Mary Guardiola said officials want to promote an ‘Eat, Drink and Be Local’ mentality and events like Pour in Stores and Taste of Oakdale help showcase the very best of the community.

The event starts off in The Reata’s garden on East E Street, where patrons will check in; receive a commemorative wine glass and a map of pouring locations. The Reata will offer the first taste of wines and invites guests to tour their facility.

A total of seven merchants will be serving wines and two serving brews and many other merchants will be open to shop during the evening as well. The selections of wines range from local favorites like Sonora’s Hurst Ranch to Sonoma’s Carmenet Winery. With several selections at each pouring location it should be a fun way to support the community and the local Chamber.

Participating merchants include: Alexandra’s Home and Garden, ASTRO Thrift & Gift Shop, Bordona’s Furniture, Femme Bricoleuse of Oakdale, London Fox, Lori’s Frame Shoppe, Past and Present Antiques and Rustic Market, Oakdale.

The pouring begins at 5 p.m. on Oct. 12. Pre-paid tickets are $30 or get them at the door for $40. You can register online at oakdalechamber.com or purchase tickets at the Oakdale Chamber, Astro Thrift & Gift, Oakdale Leader, Oak Valley Community Bank or Steves Chevrolet. Additional event information can also be found on the Chamber’s Facebook page.

“We strive to support the business community through advocacy, education and networking,” added Guardiola. “Our events add economic value to the community and enhance the quality of life.”
