Burger Fest Raises $$ For Rescue Mission Work
Grill

The third annual Burger Fest put on by the Oakdale Rescue Mission was a success on Saturday night, April 28 with organizers reporting a sizeable amount raised through dinner ticket sales, raffle items and silent auction bidding.

Diners were treated to burgers, hot dogs, a variety of salads, chips, fruit, beverages and a dessert bar. Entertainment was provided by Glen and Barbara Brickey out of Turlock and several people who have been helped through the outreach efforts of the Oakdale Rescue Mission team also gave testimony throughout the evening.

A group of volunteers worked to coordinate the meal, prizes and auction items, with all proceeds going to help the mission continue its local outreach. ORM recently purchased a home in Oakdale that will be utilized for assisting the area’s homeless population, providing a place to do laundry, prepare résumés and more.

Organizers offered thanks to the community for the support, through donations and by their attendance at the Saturday night event.
