A Wednesday afternoon blood drive scheduled in Oakdale on Wednesday, Aug. 2 has been rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 14.

The Red Cross-sponsored event was to be hosted at the Oakdale fire station on East G Street but had to be cancelled last minute when a bus used to safely transport the blood donations collected broke down, officials said.

The drive hours on Aug. 14 are expected to be the same as for the canceled Aug. 2 drive, from noon to 6 p.m.

There are two other opportunities this month to donate, in Escalon at the Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, Aug. 8 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and in Riverbank at the fire station on Topeka Street on Aug. 14, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
