Hope all had a Merry Christmas and will have a great New Year. Can’t believe it is 2014!

Helga Kaiser celebrated her birthday with a party at the River’s Edge. There was a lot of good food thanks to cook Caroline, and drinks, and socialization. Helga’s son Robert and her daughter Rose were there. Steve Brown Productions provided music. It was a very enjoyable evening thanks to Horst!

The Feichter clan held their Christmas Party in the Odd Fellows hall with all gathering for dinner and Santa.

The town and the outlying areas were decorated for the season. The cross on Frymire’s Hill could be seen from the highway and town.

Reba Morgan thanks everyone for her surprise birthday party at the 50’s Roadhouse. Reba sends her love to all her friends. Reba once ran the Buena Vista Inn (Roadhouse) and developed the Buena Vista Burger.

Gary and Barbara Shook had the whole family for Christmas. Son Chuck with his wife Heather and children Sydney, Stella and Adrian came from Las Vegas. Daughter Sonia and her husband Blaire and children Dominic and Kate came from L.A. and son Spencer and Chris came from next door. They all had a good visit.

Welcome to the world Millie Serrano, born December 26 at 12:10 a.m. Proud parents are Joselyn and Tony of Modesto. Proud Oakdale grandparents are Patti and Andy Sandoval and even prouder great-grandparents are Lee and Mary Sue Shearer of Knights Ferry. Millie weighed in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

January happenings: Thursday, January 2 is the Community Club meeting at the clubhouse at 7:00 p.m. Sunday the 5th is Breakfast Sunday at the I.O.O.F. Hall from 8-noon. There will be no Garden Club meeting this month. The MAC will meet January 23 at the clubhouse at 7:00 p.m.
