Over the weekend, the Knights Ferry Art Studio (KFAS) held a youth art showcase where they sold handcrafted chili bowls made from locally sourced raw clay to raise money for a digital kiln. The bowls were made by students and the clay was excavated from local properties with permission. They raised $900 selling the bowls coming to a grand total of $1400 in the Community Kiln fund! At the showcase, local musicians including Rita Taylor, Randy Mandy and the Frequency Experience, and the Knights Ferry Bait and Tackle Choir played music while others were using the clay to create unique works of art! The Art Studio’s goal is $3500 to purchase the kiln. KFAS still has pottery available for purchase and they will be open during the Car Show, be sure to stop by to learn more information about their pottery classes they hope to offer in the future!

Sunrise Easter service was a cold one but the experience was one to remember. Pastor Henry Raven invited past Pastor Curt Willems to say a few words and Randy Mandy and the Frequency Experience joined with Brook Healthcoat and Ty McCarthy. Brook played the theremin, it is a very unique and challenging instrument to learn. Carmen Frymire spoke a few sweet words at the end. Thank you to the Frymire family for providing a beautiful location and to all who provided the hot coffee and delicious donuts.

The Knights Ferry Classic Car Show is this weekend on Saturday, April 6th. Large vehicles and rigs are not advised such as motorhomes, large trucks and trailers, and wide loads due to the temporary closure of Main Street. The detour is narrow with sharp angles and is limited to one way traffic at a time. Expect delays from about 6am to 3pm on Saturday, April 6th and please be patient with the volunteer traffic coordinators. The Car Show will have live music, the local businesses will have food and beverages for purchase and the museum and shops will be open.
