The Thanksgiving Feast put on by the Knights Ferry School Junior High was well attended. The students decorated the clubhouse tables with leaf placemats and trees with written thanks. Ray Patton liked peeling the potatoes best. Alyssa Sisco liked mashing the potatoes. Wyatt Dickens liked making the stuffing. Kaeli Sweet liked cooking, as did Rilyn Cassaretto. Those eating were impressed at the great job the students did. Jim Boyer liked that the food was good and hot. Gayle Diltz liked the pumpkin pie and the fellowship. Don Diltz liked seeing the students being productive. Bob Brunker liked the turkey dark meat and Beverly Brunker liked the stuffing. The Army Corp personnel all came, as did Kim McCarthy’s preschool students. It was a very lovely dinner.

The river has a lot of salmon and the bridge has a lot of people looking over the edge. The river is closed for fishing until January 1st.

The Christmas parade this year was small, in part due to it being the Thanksgiving weekend. Ben Cassinetto led off the parade with his train (tractor) pulling an open car full of children and adults. Next came the Shearer decorated golf cart with Gwyn Davis driving and Cindy Davis as navigator. Then Bob Brunker drove the Rancheria Fire Truck, followed by Kaeli Sweet driving the Voortman decorated golf cart with Dakota Voortman, Deagan Sweet, Vincent Peterson, James and Troy Peterson. Then came Dave Voortman and Tristan in grandma’s decorated car. Tracy Griesner was on her ATV with niece Jordan Lewis on back. Matt Dickens and family had their ski mobile and dogs in the parade. Santa brought up the rear. Afterwards all retired to the Ice Cream Parlor to talk with Santa.
