Tonight, Thursday, April 9th is Public School Night celebration at KFS beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the classrooms open. At 6:00 p.m. the program will begin in the multi-purpose room with the essay contest winners announced by the sponsoring Masonic Lodge Oak Summit #112, Free and Accepted Masons, Knights Ferry. Classrooms will be opened again at 6:30.

Knights Ferry School sent First through Eighth Grade students to Gratton School for a Spelling Bee. Those attending were: Gracie Anderson, Carson Sundberg, River McCarthy, Vincent Peterson, Anthony Neely, Dakota Voortman, Olivia Doshas, Dean Dodge, Matthew Wolf, Alex Arias, Tyden Baker, Wyatt Dickens, Alondra Machado and Kylee Sisco. Bringing home a trophy was River McCarthy. Congratulations!

The town was FULL of cars and people for the Community Club’s Classic Car Show last Saturday. Over 170 cars entered, from old classics to hot rods. It was a great idea that Miles Shuper had and thanks to all his helpers who helped make this a success!

At the Community Club’s dinner and meeting last Thursday, there were many in attendance. Guest was Tom Letras who is running for Sheriff. The report on the Car Show shows that all is in order, even the weather! All were looking forward to the show. David Voortman announced that the KFS Auction cleared $28,000. Community Club President Linda Morris again thanked all who worked at the Spaghetti Dinner to make it a success ($3,100).

Knights Ferry School held an assembly for Student of the Month. The Kindergartener was Maddie Dickens. First/Second classes were Trexler Porter and Alexis Elting. Third /Fourth classes were Jackson Ault and Deagan Sweet. Fifth/Sixth classes were Nicole Brunker and Lenin Palafox. Seventh/Eighth classes were Clay Heffington and Eden Cassinetto. Drawn for N.E.D. awards were Jonnie Wheat, Austin Sherley, Grace Harden, Marcada Baker and Julian Velasquez. Congratulations all!
